Introduction / History

The Yadav Gauli live in Maharashtra after migrating from Andhra Pradesh. They speak Hindi and Marathi and use Devanagari to read and write. They are not vegetarians and eat wheat and rice as cereals.

Divorce and marrying again are allowed among the Yadav Gauli. There are birth and marriage rituals and the dead are cremated. On the death of the father, the oldest son becomes in charge of the home. Hinduism is their religion.

The Yadav Gauli work in agriculture and herding cattle. The women help too. Milk and milk products are sold by them. They have their children educated and make use of family planning.
