Introduction / History

The Rajbhar of Bihar are Hindus. They speak Bhojpuri and Hindi. They are not vegetarians who eat rice. They have birth and marriage rituals. The dead are cremated. On the death of the father, sons inherit the property. Many of them work as employees. They do not use family planning.

The Rabjhar of Madhya Pradesh speak in Bengali. They have a community council to look after them. Agriculture is their main work. They use modern medicines and family planning.

The Rabjhar live in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Assam too.
