Muslim Thai identify as Thai first in non-religious matters and generally consider themselves one of the Thai communities. Traditionally Thai rulers consider themselves royal patrons of all religions; this has contributed to stability in Thailand benefitting Muslim Thai. Muslim Thai are becoming more deliberate in Islamic practices abandoning certain Thai practices such as praying to ancestors. Muslim Thai value education for women. Young people have some freedom in choosing careers and spouses. A minority in a Buddhist society, Muslim Thai maintain their Muslim identity through their mosque communities. Few, if any, would consider Christ’s answers.
The Muslim Thai need to hear the gospel from someone outside their community. They need the courage to step forward and consider the ways of Jesus, no matter what other people say or do.
"Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2
Pray that the believers in this people group keep their spiritual focus on Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith.
Pray for a spiritual hunger to come to Muslim Thai leaders that will lead them to find out about Jesus Christ and open the doors for others to follow. Pray for a movement of God's blessing to flow through Muslim Thai families. Pray for the name of Jesus to be known in every Muslim Thai village. Pray that followers of Jesus would plant churches among the Muslim Thai.
