Why Pray for Unreached People Groups?
Standing in the gap for those who haven’t yet heard
Before Jesus sent out workers, he prayed. That pattern ran through his entire ministry.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Luke 10:2, NIV
The instruction is specific: ask. Among the world’s unreached people groups, there are men and women already longing for something they haven’t had a chance to hear.
God looks for people willing to pray about that.
“I looked for someone among them who would stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land.”
Ezekiel 22:30, NIV
Intercession means praying for people who don’t yet know who God is.
We ask for workers to go where the gospel hasn’t reached. And we bring those people before God even when they can’t do it themselves.
Here’s how to build that kind of prayer into your life.
Light the Nations Prayer Map
See the world’s unreached people groups on an interactive map and pray for them by name.
Every time someone prays, a light appears on the map. You can see at a glance that you’re not praying alone. Believers are standing in the gap together.
Unreached of the Day
Pray for a specific unreached people group every day. Each profile tells you who they are, where they live, what they believe, and how to pray for them. It comes as an email, an app, a podcast, or a calendar, in nine languages.
