Introduction / History

The Veluthadanayar live in Kerala in India. They speak, read and write in Malayalam. They are not vegetarians and eat rice as a cereal.

Cousin marriages are preferred among them. Divorce and marrying again are allowed. Sons and daughters inherit the property in same amounts on the death of the father. Women wash clothes (which is the traditional work) and they work in agriculture too. They can have property. There are marriage rituals and the dead are cremated.

They work as laborers, in business and in government work. There is child labor. They have a society to help them. Hinduism is their religion. They believe in education and use family planning.

Prayer Points

* Pray that gospel materials will lead them to salvation.
