Introduction / History

The Dorla are a scheduled tribe who live in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. They speak a dialect of Gondi. They are non-vegetarians who eat pork but not beef.

The Dorla like cousin marriages. Their work is in cultivation and the women help with agriculture work. They also gather from the forest and breed livestock. They make baskets for themselves to use.

The Dorla are not well educated, so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too. They use traditional medicines and do not like family planning. They have a traditional council to look after them.

Prayer Points

* Scripture Prayers for the Gond Dorla in India.

* Pray that the council leaders will come to Jesus Christ and lead others to Him.
* Pray that gospel materials will lead them to salvation.
