The Nubians consist of seven non-Arab Muslim tribes which originated in the Nubia region, an area that straddles southern Egypt and northern Sudan. One of these seven subgroups are the Fedicca-Mohas Nubians. For centuries, the Nubian territory was a crossroads between Egypt and the African tribal kingdoms. Today the Fedicca-Mohas Nubian economy is based on agriculture. They grow their own food, and their staple is dura, a thin, coarse wheat bread.
Fear that Christianity undermines their identity, and traditions is one way Satan uses to hinder Nubian communities from accepting Christ's blessings.
Though the Nubians were mostly Christians in the sixth century, they are now almost all Muslims. Most of them do not have many Christian resources nor mission agencies working among them.
Pray for believers to build bridges of friendship and trust with Nubian family leaders.
Pray that Nubian people who know Christ will become wise in sowing the Word of God among their families and friends. Pray that loving African believers will gain a vision to see the Nubians reached for Christ.
Ask the Lord to save key leaders among the Nubians who will boldly declare the gospel.
Pray for cooperation among mission agencies that are ministering to these tribes.
