The Romam of Vietnam speak a Mon Khmer language and Vietnamese. They now live in one village.
Many work in cultivation. They also work in cotton planting and weaving. Sticky rice is a favorite food for them. They fish as well as farm.
The Romam live in stilt houses. There are many kitchens in the houses. They carry their goods by basket using shoulder straps. They have wedding and engagement ceremonies. Divorce is not common among them. Women can have babies in their own homes. They play drums to let others know if someone in their family died.
They like love songs and folk songs and stories told by elders. This may be an opportunity to give the gospel in song form and also in story form.
The Romam are animists. They worship the dead as they believe this causes a better life for them. They also worship the rice spirit who they hope will give them a better harvest.
Pray that the Romam will turn from worshipping dead spirits and false gods and turn to the risen Savior.
Pray for an unstoppable movement to Christ among the Romam people in Vietnam.
Pray for the Lord to bless them with a hearty crops as a testimony of his power and goodness.
