Raji people are also called "Banrawats," "Ben-Manus" and "cave dwellers." They are a scheduled tribe meaning that they are underprivileged.
Most Raji people live in the interior forest regions. They work as gatherers, collecting honey from bee- hives, fishing, hunting. Raji people enjoy eating wild fruits and tree roots. They also make and sell farming tools. They grow their grains, hunt and fish. Women have a respected position among Raji people. They do not marry within their group, and there are no child marriages. The oldest man is the leader of the family.
They worship Hindu gods, and they worship nature. They worship to please, and to be blessed by their gods. Raji people celebrate Hindu festivals and their own rituals.
The most desperate need of Raji people is to know their Creator, whose creation they worship, and who paid the penalty for their sins. There are no printed Bible resources in the Raji diminishing language of this people group, however there are some audio resources. Who will take them to this needy community of Hindu believers?
Pray for Holy Spirit-sent workers to go the the Raji people. Pray for a spiritual hunger that will be satisfied only by Jesus. Pray for their leaders to have dreams and visions of the risen Christ. Pray for a Disciple Making Movement among them.
