Introduction / History

It is said Lithuanians came originally from Asia. Lithuania became independent as a country in 1991. Lithuanians speak their own language which is Lithuania.

They are mainly Roman Catholics by religion. Many are secular. Lithuanians are a friendly people. There are more single parent families and divorce than there used to be before.

Lithuanians like to use sour cream a lot in their foods. Roast meat such as pork are well liked. Traditional folk songs are enjoyed by them. Basketball is the favorite sport. Saunas are looked on as being necessary.

Unemployment has increased and so has crime. It is difficult for enough prison room to be found for prisoners in Lithuania.

Prayer Points

* East Europeans can be very receptive to the gospel message, pray that God will show the best ways to evangelize them.
* Pray that the troubles Lithuanians are having will lead them to Jesus Christ.
