Mochi (Muslim traditions) in Pakistan

If you were to purchase any sort of saddle or leather shoes in Nepal, northern India or Pakistan, chances are good that it was put together by a Mochi. The name "Mochi" comes from the Sanskrit mochika and the Hindi word mojna which mean "to fold."

Ministry Obstacles

Pakistan is a Muslim culture heavily influenced by Hinduism. Educational standards are low for Mochi people.

Outreach Ideas

Mochi people have a very low status because they deal with dead animals. Perhaps some can relate to leather work as an art form. Followers of Christ who appreciate leather work can make friends with Muslim Mochi people.

Scripture Focus

"But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him."  John 4:23

Scripture Prayer

Pray that this people group soon begins to worship the Father in spirit and in truth.

Prayer Focus

There are no known believers among the Mochis in Pakistan. Pray that would change in this decade. Pray for an abundant harvest of souls among the Mochi people that will result in church planting, disciple making and transformed lives. Mochi people have enough resources in their language to understand the gospel. Pray their hearts would be drawn to them. Pray for the Lord to raise up and thrust out disciplers to go to the Mochi people of Pakistan.
