The A Che are included in the artificially-constructed Yi nationality, consisting of over 100 distinct groups. Hidden away in some of the most remote areas of southwest China, the A Che are known to few outsiders. They celebrate two important festivals: the Open Street Festival and the Dragon Worship Festival.
The A Che are polytheists. They claim that their line of communication with the Creator was broken, and they lost the ability to enter heaven. Compounding the difficult task of reaching this remotely located group is the A Che's inability to read or speak Chinese.
As the A Che may want to learn Chinese in order to make career or social advances, evangelists can bring these language skills to them, along with the gospel.
"The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory." Psalm 97:6
Pray that this will be the year when today’s nation sees His righteousness and glory.
The Heaven's Family Ministry engaged the A Che from 2003-2013. It planted a church consisting of a few Christ followers. The ministry considers the A Che to be engaged but not reached (not capable of reproducing itself). Pray for godly men to be trained in sound doctrine to disciple A Che believers. Pray for them to grow in faith and begin the process of discipling the A Che people. The A Che people need a spiritual hunger that will drive them to seek and find the true God of Creation. Ask the Lord to give them this hunger and thirst for righteousness that can transform A Che society. Pray that soon many would walk with their Creator.
