The origin of Limbu is not certain, but they are clearly of Mongolian descent. Agriculture is their main source of income. Women are very influential within Limbu families, especially if the husbands are in the military and stay away for long periods of time.
Bhutan is one of the world's least evangelized nations. The Limbu are predominantly Buddhists but participate in many popular Hindu festivals. Their worldview is very different from that of Christ followers.
Limbu people need the hope and joy of knowing their Creator and following the savior who alone can forgive sins and direct their lives.
"Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways!" Psalm 128:1
Pray that many from this people group will have the joy that comes from fearing and following the Lord.
There are no Limbu Christian believers, so pray for Christ's ambassadors from nearby Nepal and India to reach them. Pray for a movement in which the Holy Spirit leads and empowers disciples to make more disciples who will plant churches. Pray for a movement of Jesus to heal and strengthen Limbu communities and families.
