Persecution of and discrimination against the Jews have been the historical reasons for their global migrations and settlements. The Spanish-speaking Jewish community in Mexico began by accompanying early European explorers. However, most came in the late 1800s from Central and Eastern Europe during persecution. They also came from the Middle East. After World War II and the Holocaust, Mexico extended a warm welcome to Jewish immigrants. In 1947, the Jews of Mexico loaned the fledgling nation of Israel the money to buy its first airplanes and aviation fuel for defense. Today most live in Mexico City as a distinct minority. Many work in small and middle-sized businesses, the communication and entertainment industries, medicine, law and accounting.
This people group tends to view Christianity as the religion of their oppressors rather than the fulfillment of what God promised all of humanity through Abraham centuries ago.
Intensive intercessory prayer will bring forth miracles in the lives of these Jews which will demonstrate the love and power of the risen Christ.
"O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures." Psalm 104:24
Pray for God to speak to the hearts of members of this people group through the many wonders of nature.
Pray for the small number of Messianic Mexican Jewish believers to be strong in their faith and successful in sharing it. Pray for Jewish people in Mexico to begin a movement to Jesus Christ, finding ways to exalt him while honoring their culture.
