Introduction / History

The Alehemir people group live in the Nuba Mountains in the state of South Kordofan, in Sudan.


What Are Their Lives Like?

They are rural farmers growing sorghum and corn and raising cattle, sheep and goats. They practice a special type of dancing and wrestling.


What Are Their Beliefs?

All of the Alehemir people identify as Muslims.


What Are Their Needs?

Services among the Alehemir are quite limited with water collected from boreholes. They have no schools or health care facilities.
