Karanga is one of the four Maban languages spoken in Chad.
Karanga speakers live in the Ouaddai Region of Chad.
Like other people groups of the Sahel Desert, Karanga speaking people lead hard lives. It is hard to even survive in a land that lacks adequate water for crops and livestock. These hardy people survive in a land that would destroy most other peoples.
The primary religion practiced by the Karanga people is Islam, a monotheistic religion built around the teachings of the Koran and of the prophet Mohammad. Like other Muslim peoples in Africa, the Karanga speakers depend on the spirit world for their daily needs more than they depend on Allah, the God of Islam.
There are no Christian materials for the Karanga people of Chad. This means that the gospel message will likely be presented to them in a language that is outside of their culture, so it will seem foreign.
Pray for Christian materials to soon become available in the Karanga language.
Pray for the Lord to reveal Himself to these unreached, and nearly unengaged people.
Pray for a spiritual openness that will lead them to Jesus.
Pray for a disciple making movement to flourish among Karanga speakers.
