Introduction / History

The Sandhai are a Muslim people who live in Gujarat in India. They are nomads and this may be an obstacle to the gospel. They live in the region of Kutch. Kutchi is spoken by them with words of Sindhi.

The Sandhai are endogamous (they marry members of their own group) and have more than eighty clans. Some of the main ones are the Samma, the Sameja and the Jadeja. They are cattle breeders and they also breed goats and buffaloes. Many have gone to live in other parts of India for employment.

The Sandhai are Sunni Muslims and many follow the Barelvi way that is to do with mysticism. In Saurashtra many are farmers living on the settlements. They have an association that deals with matters for the people in the whole state here.

Prayer Points

* Pray that the leaders of the association for the Sandhai will give their lives to Jesus Christ and lead others of the Sandhai to Him.
* Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to salvation.
