Introduction / History

Until late 1800s the Yucunas were conquering neighboring tribes. Later they became involved in trading, rubber gathering, and adapted more peaceful ways, in the 1980s involved in coca-leaf trade.


Where Are they Located?

SE Colombia, mostly along the Miriti-Parana river.

Hunters-gatherers, slash-burning farmers.

Roman Catholic mixed with traditional animism.
