Traditionally Tadyawan wore a g-string, and the women wore a red cloth called papa, which wrapped around her upper body. Their lower bodies were covered by a white cloth they called talapi. Women wore colorful bracelets and necklaces. Today they dress more like the Filipino majority. They are a subtribe of the bigger Mangyan people.
The Tadyawan people live in the Philippines, on the island of Mindoro, just south of Luzon.
This people group grows rice, sweet potatoes, taro, and bananas. They are a poor tribal people.
They worship nature spirits. Only four percent of this people group is Christian in any way. Most likely they are Christian in name only.
The Tadyawan people need to learn ways to increase their harvests.
* Scripture Prayers for the Tadyawan in Philippines.
* Ask God to lead faithful workers to disciple the Tadyawan people in the ways of Jesus Christ.
* Pray that a mission agency will begin translating the Bible into the language of this people group.
* Pray that the few Tadyawan followers of Jesus Christ would grow in faith and begin sharing the message of salvation with their countrymen.
