The Aheu were once considered three groups, now they are one. Of the three subgroups of Aheu, only the Thavung are located outside of Laos. Three Thavung villages are situated in Sakonnakhon Province of Thailand.
The Thavung group gets much of their food through hunting and food gathering. There is probably some agriculture.
Spirit worship is very prevalent among Thailand's Aheu people. They use Buddhism more as a charm against evil than from a conviction of its truth. In exceptional places such as at Dan Sai the people apparently enjoyed Buddhism, but in many places the temples were vacant and in none were they in good repair.
The Aheu people, be they in Laos or Thailand, need to know the power and goodness of Jesus Christ, the only one who conquered the spirits that weaken their communities.
Pray for the Aheu people to understand the vast difference between the spirits they worship and the sovereign, risen Lord.
Pray for the Lord to give the Aheu people an abundant harvest of food this year as a testimony of his power and goodness.
Pray the gospel would finally be taken to the Aheu people, who have lived for centuries without a witness.
Ask God to send long-term workers to reach the Aheu.
Pray all people in Thailand would soon have the opportunity to find forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ.
