The Konwar are also known as Kachari and Dimasa-Kachari. They have their own language which is part of the Tibetan-Burman family of languages. This tribe lives in West Bengal and Assam states.
The Konwar have their own cultural forms of music, dance and festivals. They are very adept at weaving textiles and making craft items from bamboo. Others are great potters.
Some Konwar adhere to a blend of folk religion and Christianity, but most are Hindu. Hinduism has the flexibility to include many folk practices.
These people need to realize that they cannot please God without being empowered by the Holy Spirit. They cannot have the Holy Spirit without Jesus Christ.
Pray for a movement of Jesus to heal and strengthen Konwar communities.
Pray for the Konwar people to understand and embrace that Jesus wants to bless their families and neighborhoods.
Pray for Holy Spirit anointed believers from the Konwar people to change their society from within.
Pray for a movement in which the Holy Spirit leads and empowers disciples to make more disciples.
