According to Hindu mythology, the Khati are descendants of Lord Vishwakarma, the creator and engineer of the universe. The original Khati performed experiments and were called saints. Many today teach engineering and science. These are the people with born intellect and are natural engineers. They enjoy high status as scientists and engineers in Indian universities. However, their position was challenged due to the Industrial Revolution as their traditional skills became obsolete. Today most Khati live mainly in Rajasthan, one of India's least reached states.
The Khati are gifted as engineers and builders. They perform well in any technical field of science. In the recent century they have managed to maintain their high status and many top engineering posts in India are held by Khati.
The Khatri people are almost all Hindus. Like other Hindu communities, they worship the gods that they believe will offer them the most benefits and protection. They engage in Hindu rituals at births, weddings and funerals, but to many these are just required rituals.
The Khati must have humility to see themselves are sinners who need a Savior. Pride in one's position in society can be a hindrance in becoming a believer in Christ.
Ask the Lord to open the hearts of the Khati so they will listen to the message of Jesus Christ. Pray for a disciple making movement among the Khati people this decade. Pray for the Lord to send out Indian believers to tell the Khati people about the good news of Christ.
