China’s Phuma people are also known as the Drung people. They live in Tibet, a nation taken over by the Chinese, and their culture is tied in with that of the Tibetans. They speak a Tibeto-Burman language.
For their livelihood, the Phuma grow beans, wheat and barley. They also raise livestock.
The Phuma people adhere to their own traditional religious practices. They live in a land dominated by various forms of Buddhism, so it’s very possible that Buddhist practices affect them as well.
Like all other peoples in Tibet, the Phuma people must adjust to being dominated by the Han Chinese people. They must deal with the Chinese taking the best jobs in their homeland. Modernization is something they must deal with as well.
Pray for many from this unreached people group to understand both God’s judgment and his majestic glory.
Pray for loving workers to go to the Phuma people, and for their hearts to be ready to receive the only savior.
Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that result in thousands of new disciples who share their faith with others.
Pray for grace and truth expanding into their entire society as all believers learn to love others.
Scripture Prayers for the Phuma in China.
