Introduction / History
The Arandan of India are also called Aranadan or Eranadan and live in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and other Indian states.
In Kerala the Arandan speak a language that is a combination of Tamil, Malayam and Kannada. They are a scheduled tribe. Hinduism is their religion. They are mostly landless and gatherers of forest products.
Marriage is usually by elopement for the Arandan. Divorce and marrying again is allowed. There are marriage and birth rituals. The dead are buried.
The Arandan have little contact with their neighbors nearby. They are small in numbers and are low on the social ladder.
* Pray that God gives the Arandan dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel recordings and the Internet lead them to salvation too.
* Pray that their low social position will be no hindrance to them accepting Jesus Christ.
