The Neyo migrated from Liberia and first settled in the western part of Cote d'Ivoire. It was as a result of wars that they came to settle in their present location.
They are located in the Sassandra sub prefecture of Cote d'Ivoire, most of their 24 villages are along the sea coast.
Their economy is based on agriculture. They were formally fishermen but had to abandon this occupation as a result of the presence of Ghanian fishermen.
The Neyo are mostlly animists. Each family worships a particular spirit which theu belive protects them and assures them of good fortune. Each village also worhips a particular deity. The Neyo worships a cayman as their overall deity, who they believe protects every Neyo from drowning. There are evangelical churches among the Neyo. However, the members are mostly outsiders.
They need basic amenities such as electricity, pipeborne water, schools and hospitals.
* Scripture Prayers for the Neho in Côte d'Ivoire.
* Pray for the clear proclamation of the gospel among them.
* Pray that God will give a missionary vision to the evangelical churches working among them, so they could focus on the Neyo.
