The Dangariks are one of the Pashtun tribes who live in the southern Chitral section of Pakistan's northwestern province called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They have their own language called Palula.
The Dangariks are livestock herders. They also raise chickens. They do not have regular access to clean water or electricity. Their lives are simple, and most have a short life expectancy. Most likely they have to deal with armed gunmen and danger because of the part of northern Pakistan where they live.
The Dangarik people were converted to Islam from Hinduism long ago. However, like most Islamic tribal people in South Asia, their form of Islam is not orthodox. They might pray five times a day facing Mecca, but they don't always put their faith in Allah, the Supreme God in Islam. Instead, there are many superstitions and spirit beings that they rely on for their daily needs. As Pashtuns they have their own code of honor that supersedes their adherence to Islam.
They need adequate water for their herds. These are people who live without adequate education, medical care or clean water. But most of all, they need a savior who will provide them with abundant life.
Pray for the Lord to provide them with an abundant harvest this year as a testimony of his goodness and power.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to give the Dangarik people teachable and understanding hearts.
Pray that a strong movement of the Holy Spirit will bring entire Dangarik families into a rich experience of God's blessing.
Pray for Dangarik families to be drawn by the Holy Spirit to seek forgiveness, and to understand the adequacy of Christ's work on the cross.
Pray for the Lord to open the hearts of Dangarik family leaders to experience God's blessing through a movement of family-based discovery Bible studies.
