The Aruva live in Odisha. They speak, read and write in Oriya.
The Aruva work mostly in agriculture while some are day laborers due to being landless. Some of them are office workers. The Aruva prefer to marry their cousins. They have subgroups and are endogamous, meaning they prefer to marry within their own group. The divorced and bereaved are allowed to marry again. On the death of the father, sons inherit the property with the oldest son getting the most, and he becomes the head of the household.
The Aruva people are almost entirely Hindu.
The Aruva people need to put their hope and trust in Jesus Christ, the one who came to offer them life to the full.
Pray that God gives them dreams and visions leading them to a movement to Christ. Pray that Indian believers act as Christ's ambassadors, helping them to study, understand, and internalize the teachings of the Bible.
