The Lopis live in small communities in China s Yunnan Province. The Chinese government counts them as part of the huge Yi nationality, which is a collection of 94 different tribes. The Lopis disagree; they do not identify with the Yi, whom they consider barbarians. They called themselves Lopi, but the Chinese call them Shuitian, which means watery fields people.
The name watery fields people indicates their occupation. They are primarily rice cultivators. Because they are a small group, the Lopi are being assimilated into Han Chinese culture.
Most Lopi are non-religious, although a few elderly Lopi individuals remain animistic. There is also a good percentage of Christians among them, mostly Evangelical.
The Lopis need a complete harvest among them. Their churches need revival fire to help get them centered on Christ.
Pray for a complete harvest among the Lopi people, blessing their families and villages in many ways.
Pray for the Lord to send his Holy Spirit to revive the Lopi church and send them out as his ambassadors to the lost in Yunnan Province.
Pray for them to read and heed the word of God.
Pray for the authority of Christ to bind hindering spiritual forces to lead them from darkness to light.
