The Andoque in Colombia once lived in a vast area of Colombia where they carried out trade. They were known as the ax people, because they often traded stone axes for other goods. Their population was decimated when they came in contact with rubber interests in the 20th century. Today their population is less than 1,000.
The Andoque now live on reservations where they hunt, fish, farm and do small-scale logging. They grow bananas, pineapple, maize, cassava brava, sweet cassava, plantains and sugarcane. Their society is becoming less hierarchical.
They are primarily Roman Catholic, though some are Evangelical. They blend these with traditional religion.
The Andoque need to put all their faith in Jesus Christ.
Pray for Andoque disciples to disciple others.
Pray for Andoque churches to exhibit the fruit of the Holy Spirit, drawing others to the Lord.
Pray for the Lord to abundantly provide for the Andoque as a testimony of his goodness and power.
