The Tunisians in America live mainly on the west coast and in the northeast and the southeast of the country. They speak Arabic, English and French. Their main religion is Islam and some of them are Christians. Some are not religious.
There was little immigration by Tunisians to America before 1960 until the Peace Corps and Amideast volunteers came. In 1981, the Technology Transfer Program began and was there to help Tunisia with technology to help their economy. Through this, Tunisians had the chance to come to America to study. Late last century more Tunisians came to live in America.
Tunisian American community came into being and it coincided with the growth of the internet. Their Tunisian Community Centre began, and their website became much used. This organization has events for the community that helps more to be known about Tunisia and helps with literacy.
Tunisian Arabs are almost entirely Sunni Muslim. Some are secular in their worldview, but they will always look to the mosque to be married or buried.
Tunisian Arabs will not hear the gospel in an open country like the United States unless someone tries to reach them.
Pray that Tunisian and American Christians will give these Tunisians the gospel, leading them to salvation.
Pray that the internet will be used to bring Tunisians to Jesus Christ.
