Introduction / History

The Nyandang people group is a small tribe living in hilly areas. They are a peaceful farming community.
They live in the northern part of Nigeria, north east and north central (the middle belt).
They raise farm animals and grow corn. The Nyandang are becoming more Christian than ever, and in the process may be losing some of their cultural heritage to this modern life.

What are Their Beliefs?

The Nyandang continue to worship their god (Rubi). Many think the Nyandang still worship the sun god (Rubi) but it is the force or what makes the sun (Rubi) stand, that is, the creator of the sun that the Nyandang worship.

Prayer Points

* Pray for restoration of unity.
* Pray they will practice real Christianity.
* Pray for those who are turning to other beliefs.
