Introduction / History

At one time, the Lalengs migrated from Southwestern China to their current home in southeastern Bangladesh. They one of many tribal peoples in this part of the world. They are Hindus who speak Tiwa.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Lalengs are losing political power to the Bangladeshi majority even at the local level, led by panchayats. They are a poor community with a low literacy rate.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Most of the Lalengs are Hindu, but they have a sizable Christian minority. They are a dying community in eastern Bangladesh.

What Are Their Needs?

They need decision-making power for their local communities. As it stands, they are losing it.

Laleng people need to see God s signs and wonders as a testimony that Jehovah is Lord over all!

Prayer Points

Pray for power encounters that will clearly show the Lalengs that they need to put all their faith in Jesus Christ, and none other.
Pray for them to have control over their own land, resources, and culture.
Pray for Laleng disciples who will disciple others.
