The Mannan are a scheduled caste in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. They speak Malayalam and Tamil. Perumannan is another name for them.
Most work as washermen. Some of them work with coconuts, herbal medicines or as day laborers. They are usually educated. They use government approved self-employment programs. They have a community association to look after their interests. The Mannan are monogamous and prefer cousin marriages.
Hinduism is their religion, but there are some Christians among them.
The Mannan people need a relationship with God the Father so they can have His heavenly guidance for all of life's trials.
Pray that the community association leaders lead others of the Mannan to begin a movement to Christ. Pray for Mannan believers to boldly and lovingly take Christ to their Hindu neighbors. Pray for the Holy Spirit to move mightily among this people group.
