Introduction / History

The Remun people, also known as the Millikin, are spread across 13 villages and have formed a strong identity around their language. Though a small people group, they are proud of their language and culture, with all adults speaking their mother tongue and some young people speaking it.

What Are Their Lives Like?

They are mainly subsistence farmers and hunters, though the next generation is beginning to work in nearby towns. God longs for every single one of these people to know him.

What Are Their Beliefs?

While a minority of Millikin people are Christian, the majority of Millikin people still practice traditional animistic beliefs, and their spirituality revolves around objects and animals found in nature.

What Are Their Needs?

Like many minority groups, the Millikin people face pressure to assimilate into the dominant culture and religion.

Prayer Points

Pray for them to not only remain distinct but to find their true identity in Christ.
Pray that Bible translation will begin soon among them and that it will be locally initiated, perhaps by believers in surrounding villages, and contextualized for their culture.
Pray for a soon coming disciple making movement that will permeate Milikin society with his blessings.
