Introduction / History

The Subei people group is a living in Dilling County in the remote Nuba Mountains in the state of South Kordofan, Sudan. Their heart language is Subei, but most also speak the trade language, Sudanese Arabic.

What Are Their Lives Like?

They cultivate sorghum and corn and raise cattle, sheep and goats.

What Are Their Beliefs?

All of the Subei people are Muslims.

What Are Their Needs?

The rainy season makes most roads impassable from June-October, and access is difficult year-round. They have no known schools or health care facilities.
