Introduction / History

The Korama are a scheduled caste who live in Karnataka. They speak Tamil and Kannada. They are not vegetarians and eat rice as a cereal.

The Korama prefer marriages between cousin. They traditionally work in fortune telling, bamboo work and other occupations. Many of them are laborers now. They are endogamous at local level which means they prefer to keep marriages within the group. Hinduism is their religion.

The Korama educate their boys and educate the girls to a lesser degree. Their literacy level is low, so the gospel will need to be given in oral form.

Prayer Points

* Pray God will give them dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel recordings lead them to salvation.
