Introduction / History

The Jaiswal of Delhi are mainly Hindus. They eat wheat and rice. Marriages are usually by discussion and a dowry is given. Marrying again is allowed. On the death of the father, sons inherit the property with the oldest son becoming in charge of the home. There are birth and marriage rituals. The dead are cremated.
