They converted to Islam from among the Gond tribe about 300 years ago. They are also called Dao Muslim Jamat. The Muslim Raj Gonds live mainly in Nagpur in Maharashtra. Some live in Madhya Pradesh.
The Muslim Raj Gond are mainly endogamous (they prefer marriages within the community) but no longer use clan exogamy (marrying someone from a different clan). Urdu is now their preferred language.
They are connected to Tableeghi Jamat or Tablighi Jamaat, a Sunni Islam missionary organization. The Tablighi Jamaat encourage those they influence to return to the ways of early Sunni Islam, specifically in regards to clothing, rituals and outward behavior.
The Muslim Raj Gonds need a sin-free Savior to offer them abundant life.
Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to the only Savior, Jesus Christ. Pray for a disciple making movement for the Muslim Raj Gonds. Pray for intercessors and workers to go to them.
