The Jhalawan are one of the Bruhui tribes. There are three hypotheses about where the Jhalawan people came from. Their language seems to be related to those of southern Indian, the Dravidian peoples, but scholars are at odds as to what this means.
Most of the Jhalawan Brahui people live in Pakistan's Baloch Province. A smaller number lives in Afghanistan.
We know very little about the lives of the Jhalawan Brahui people of Pakistan.
All of the Brahui tribes, including the Jhalawans, are Muslim. Because few if any can read Classical Arabic, they are not able to understand the intricacies of Koranic teachings. They have to rely on what their mullahs and imams teach them about the Koran. As a tribal people, they attend mosques, and try to do whatever they can to ensure that they are in good standing with Allah, the god of Islam. They hope that their good deeds will outweigh their bad deeds on the day of judgment so they can enter paradise.
This people group needs the opportunity to choose Jesus Christ or reject Him. As a tribal people from rural Pakistan, they have very little chance to hear that there is a sin-forgiving Savior.
Like just about any tribal people in Pakistan, the Jhalawan Brahui people can use better schools and medical facilities. They can also benefit from water projects.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to give the Jhalawan Brahui people a strong desire for truth and righteousness that will lead them to Jesus Christ.
Pray for the Lord to thrust out workers to them who will lovingly stay with them until there is a disciple-making movement.
Pray for the Lord to bless Jhalawan Brahui families with both spiritual and physical abundance, and that in the process, they will give Him praise and glory.
