There are fewer than 1,000 Lunape people in Bhutan. They speak Lunanakha.
The Lunape people only live in Bhutan.
Living in the high mountains of Bhutan makes for difficult living. It's hard to grow any crop in a place where there is way too much wind, way too little sun, and it always feels like winter. Somehow the Lunape people survive in this harsh climate.
This people group is Tibetan Buddhist, like most other peoples in Bhutan. Tibetan Buddhism includes many beliefs from the shamanistic bon religion, which pre-dates Buddhism in the Himalayan Mountain region.
The Lunape people need to find ways to earn a better living. An agricultural economy does not work very well in such a harsh environment.
Pray for Christian materials for the Lunape people. They do not have the JESUS Film, a Bible, gospel recordings, or a radio broadcast.
Pray that these Tibetan Buddhists will crave true spiritual nourishment, and not settle for what their ancestors had.
Pray for believers to take the gospel to them and disciple them in the ways of Jesus Christ.
