Introduction / History

“Latin American” is a generic term for people from this vast region who do not fall into any specific ethnic category. They are not part of any indigenous community and they can’t claim to be Spanish either.

What Are Their Lives Like?

In Paraguay, Latin Americans blend in with any other Spanish speaking population. They do not speak an indigenous language. One can find Latin Americans working just about anywhere or attending any university in Paraguay.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Latin Americans are usually Roman Catholic. Many are marginal in their faith, and it does not affect their lives. There are some Protestants and Evangelicals among them.

What Are Their Needs?

Some of the Latin Americans need a definite identity. As it stands, they can’t claim any particular group, except perhaps Paraguayans.

Latin Americans in Paraguay who want to live for Christ need to form fellowships where they can study the Bible and allow God’s teachings to transform their lives, their families and their communities.

Prayer Points

Pray for Evangelical Latin Americans to reach out to the Latinos with the love of Christ and the gospel message.
Pray for disciples who will make more disciples.
Pray for Latin American Evangelicals to take Christ to all unreached peoples in South America, especially the Muslims.
