Introduction / History

Thailand has the largest Chinese people group away from China. Many are Han Chinese. Most of them have their origins in Guandong province.

Many Chinese have married Thai people and regard themselves as Thai, too. The Thai Chinese have an important representation in politics and business in Thailand. Thai Chinese businesses are the biggest investors in China from abroad.

Han Chinese traders began to come to Thailand in the 1200s. Many now live in the coastal regions including the capital Bangkok. Most speak in Thai only. Many are Buddhist by religion.

Prayer Points

Pray that Chinese Christians would lead the Thai Chinese to Jesus Christ.
Pray that the Buddhists and business people will discover Jesus Christ through other means too and come to Him.
