Introduction / History

The Adi people are spread through China, Tibet and India. Only a very small percentage live in Bhutan. There are no known followers of Christ among them.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Historically a remote people, the Adi continue to be socially and economically isolated. Even their villages tend to remain separate from one another, governing themselves by individual rules and councils. Wealth is measured in domesticated animals, jewelry and land ownership.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Adi continue to follow traditional religious practices, seeking the advice and power of local shamans.

What Are Their Needs?

The Bible is available in the Adi language, along with online, audio and JESUS Film resources. What they don't have is a personal witness to share the Gospel message with them.

Prayer Points

Pray for key members of the Adi communities in Bhutan to hear and receive the good news. Pray for the Lord to birth a church planting movement that will provide all of the Adi with the opportunity to know their Creator and the Son He sent to save them. Pray for the Lord to thrust out workers to the Adi people.
