Introduction / History

The Paky or Thoti are a Scheduled Caste who live in Andhra Pradesh. They speak Oriya and Telugu and read and write in Telugu. They are not vegetarians, do not eat buffalo meat and eat rice as a cereal. Hinduism is their religion.

The Paky work as scavengers, in rickshaw pulling and in agricultural labor. They are mostly landless. The women do domestic work. They have a low literacy level, so the gospel will need to be given in oral form too. Family planning is used by them.

A small number of the Paky live in Pondicherry.

Prayer Points

* Pray that Indian Christians lead them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel recordings will lead them to salvation.
