Introduction / History

The Patni Jamat of India live in Gujarat. They are Sunni Muslims and speak Gujarati, Urdu and Hindi. They are traders and came from a town in Gujarat called Patan. They have many clans who marry among themselves and these clans are given the same status as each other.

Patni Jamat are fish merchants as well as trader. Many live in Mumbai too. Fish selling is big with them. They have fish shops and export fish to other parts of the world. Some have gone into transport work in a large way.

Many of the Patni Jamat have emigrated because of business and education.

Prayer Points

* Pray that as the Patni Jamat read the Koran about Jesus Christ they will then read about Him in the Bible and give their lives to Him.
* Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to salvation.
