Introduction / History

The word pindara is related to alcohol. The Pindara speak Punjabi. They live scattered throughout India and in the easternmost provinces in Pakistan: Sindh and Punjab.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Most of the Pindara own land. They work in agriculture. They allow for divorce and remarriage. On the death of the father, sons and daughters both inherit the property with the oldest son becoming the new family head. They have birth and marriage rituals, and they bury their dead.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Islam is their religion, but they join Hindus with some of their festivals.

What Are Their Needs?

They need to accept the blessings of Jesus Christ, the one who came to offer abundant life.

Prayer Points

Pray that they will seek and find truth in Jesus Christ. Pray for their elders to open the doors to their people internalizing the teachings of Christ. Pray for intercessors and workers.
