The Oriya are from Orissa in India. They have emigrated to many countries. They have close contact with each other and with the Oriya in Orissa.

In the United States the Oriya maintain their culture. They are Hindus by religion. They have festivals that they celebrate such as Holi and Diwali. They enjoy traditional dances and dramas. Dancers from Orissa come to America for special Oriya events.

The Oriya in the United States have an Association called The Odisha Society of the Americas that promotes Orissa culture. It helps with Oriya and American relations. They have a yearly meeting for immigrants from Orissa to celebrate their culture. They have religious and social events too.
