Introduction / History

The Molesalam Girasia of India live in the state of Gujarat. Girasia means landlords. They speak, read and write in Gujarati. They are not vegetarians and eat wheat as a cereal.

The Molesalam Girasia like to have cousin marriages. Birth and marriage rituals take place. Divorce and widows marrying again are not allowed. On the death of the father, women get some property but less than men.

Agriculture is their main work. A community council judges in disagreements. They are Sunni Muslims. They have a low literacy level so the gospel needs to be given in oral form too. Modern medicines and family planning are used by them.

Prayer Points

* Pray that as the Molesalam Girasia read the Koran they are attracted to Jesus, read the Bible and give their lives to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel recordings will lead them to salvation.
