Introduction / History

Mala Arayan means king of the forest. The Malai Arayan or Mala Arayan live in Kerala. They are mainly Hindus who speak Malayam and are a scheduled tribe. There are more of them who work in government service than in any other scheduled tribe.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Some of the Malai Arayan are Christian believers and they marry in the church that the groom attends. The Malai Arayan work in agriculture and are hunters. Unlike most Hindus they bury their dead.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Most are Hindus, but there is a strong Christian presence among them.

What Are Their Needs?

The Malai Aryan people need the abundant life that only Jesus offers.

Prayer Points

Pray that any evangelical Malai Arayan believers will lead others to Jesus Christ. Pray that the internet and gospel materials will provide them with abundant resources. Pray for a disciple making movement among them this decade.
