The Eluthassan people live in Kerala, one of India's most Christianized states. They speak Malayalam, Kerala's language. They remain unreached, despite the fact that a high percentage of their neighbors follow the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
We know very little about the lifestyle of the Eluthassan people of Kerala, India.
The Eluthassan people practice Hinduism, the ancient religion of India. Hinduism is a catch-all phrase for the local religions of South Asia, so it is very diverse. At the popular level, Hindus worship and serve the gods of the Hindu pantheon. They visit Hindu temples and offer prayers, food, flowers, and incense to their gods in hopes of gaining protection and benefits. They do not have a personal or familial relationship with their gods like Christians or Jews. There are other Hindus who are much more philosophical, especially among the Brahmins.
Almost all Hindus participate in yearly celebrations like Holi, the festival of colors and the start of spring / Diwali, the festival of lights / Navratri, the celebration of autumn / and Rama Navami, Rama's birthday.
The Eluthassan people identify with being Hindus. There are also enough false believers in their area to give them reason to distrust those who call themselves Christian. It will take Malayalam speakers with a heart for their Hindu neighbors to make sure they have the chance to experience life to the full, as Jesus offered.
Pray for physical and spiritual blessings for the Eluthassan people.
Pray for spiritual openness and discernment among the Eluthassan people.
Pray that there would be a disciple making movement among the Eluthassan people this decade.
Pray for the Lord to provide dreams and visions to Eluthassan elders that give them a yearning for Jesus Christ.
Pray for the Lord to move on Eluthassan hearts to open the doors of their communities to those who believe in Christ.
